Collection: Stinger Hooks

Circle hooks, Mutu circle hooks and octopus hooks in black nickel, sized from light inshore work up through offshore bottom fishing, plus multi-size Captain Packs.

Circle hooks are not optional gear in a lot of saltwater fishing anymore — they are required for reef fish in federal Gulf and South Atlantic waters, and for good reason. The point turns into the jaw hinge as the fish moves off, which means a corner hookup instead of a gut hookup and a released fish that actually swims away.

The trade-off is technique. You do not set a circle hook. You let the rod load and start reeling. Every angler who came up on J hooks pulls one out of a fish the first few trips before the habit breaks.

Octopus hooks are the short-shank answer for jig heads and cut bait. Mutu circles are the heavier-wire build for fish that pull back.
